I first heard this song a few years ago on a mixtape on the web. I really enjoyed it but I didn't know who was singing and forgot about it. What a chance I had when browsing on soundcloud I found this reedit by ole smokey. Never had the chance to talk personnally to the guy but I've been following his work for quite a long time. And he did a hell of a good job here. Extending the groove is pretty much the basic thing in reedit but doing it at the right moment is not a piece of cake ! To me, he knows the deal, so check this out :

Imagination - Music and Lights (scratchandsniff re-rub)

I always had a particular feeling about the electro disco funk of the imagination band. Maybe because it brings me back some childhood memories. I was very happy to discover this reedit of music & lights by scratchandsniff. I definitely like his approach of reediting. Keep the vibe from the original song and work with it, no additional blabla ! Extending the groove at the beginning was a very good idea, very dj friendly. Hope you'll enjoy :

This famous Serge Gainsbourg song was first released in 1984 on the LP "Love to The Beat". At the time it was a very controversial song as it is about rough sex with a young lady. Too young at the time of its release I don't have much memories of it, but I "re-discovered" this song a few months ago on a LP live by S.Gainsbourg from his performance back in 1984. And I have to admit I got hit by the strong funk flavor of this arrangement. I just re-edited this live recording to focus on it.

Cerrone - Music of Life (DJ Kevin Wilson reedit)

I discovered this song on Cerrone IV The Golden Touch. It has an endless and timeless little something I love. It is fresh and very moving sometimes. I do love this song, really ! But what I preferred in it what the bridge of the chorus "Heavenly high, Music of Life, Endless time, Music of Life". Honestly, I could loop it and listen to this small part forever. I first started reediting it trying to focus on this sentence but too much of it was killing it. So I worked differently and based the reedit like a full song but adding more moments when the bridge could fit.

Janice Mc Clain - Smack Dab in The Middle (DJ Kevin Wilson Breakdown Reedit)

I first heard this song in the "Journey to Paradise" CD dedicated to the most famous classics played by DJ Larry Levan @ the Paradise Garage. I immediately liked this song for its Broadway/Gershwin touch with all the strings & stuff .  I honestly knew nothing about the singer Janice Mc Clain before that but what a voice !!!! I really wanted to reedit this song but I didn't want to reedit it just to do so. I wanted to try and have a different approach of it. As the groove during the breaks really hit me hard I decided to focus on it and skip totally the verses in order to lose the "Broadway" vibe" and transform it into something more 4 to the floor kinda disco.
